Técnica tradicional&#38;nbsp;En los últimos años el acabado de cal que se realiza con chukum se ha vuelto muy popular, sobre todo a raíz del boom inmobiliario surgido en la península de Yucatán, sin embargo detrás de la utilización de este método existe un desastre ecológico que poco se conoce.

El chukum es un árbol que crece en la selva maya y es utilizado como agregado en los acabados de cal de la región de la península desde época prehispánica.&#38;nbsp; Se elabora a partir de la resina de la corteza de este árbol, mezclada con cal para crear una pasta-estucado- que se aplica en muros, pisos, techos, piscinas o superficies exteriores e interiores.&#38;nbsp;

En nuestro país existen mil 200 proyectos mineros y mil 672 


minas operando en el país lo que representa el&#38;nbsp; 12% del territorio nacional esto es similar al tamaño del estado de Chihuahua. Además sólo se tienen en los datos registrados&#38;nbsp;168 bancos de materiales, que se obtubieron de info de la Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes en México.&#38;nbsp;
Que paradójico resulta que en nuestro país el material petreo sea un bien que no tiene ninguna excepción relevante para ser cuidado o monitoreado.De hecho la Ley Minera mexicana, excenta a cualquier material petreo por no tener “ningún valor” cuantificable a nivel país.&#38;nbsp;
 Artículo 5. Se exceptúan de la aplicación de la presente Ley: 
 
VI.-&#38;nbsp; Las rocas o los productos de su descomposición que sólo puedan utilizarse para la fabricación de materiales de construcción o se destinen a este fin; 
V. Los productos derivados de la descomposición de las rocas, cuando su explotación se realice por medio de trabajos a cielo abierto, y excenta de se aplicable para todas.VI.-La sal que provenga de salinas formadas en cuencas endorréicas.

Las obras y construcción del Tren Maya ocupan una superficie de 10 mil 831 hectáreas, de las que 61% (6,659 ha) correspondían a selvas que ahora han sido deforestadas. El 87% del desmonte de la vegetación natural realizado para las obras del denominado “Tren Maya” carece de autorizaciones de Cambio de Uso de Suelo en Terrenos Forestales (CUSTF).

La construcción del “Tren Maya”, proyecto emblemático del gobierno, ha sido cuando menos, polémica por sus distintas implicaciones en la cobertura forestal, en la biodiversidad, en el acuífero y la red de cuevas y cenotes, como modelo económico y de desarrollo, y ante el modo de vida tradicional de los pueblos originarios.  90°13'24.32"OLas comunidades menonitas en Quintana Roo, como en otros estados del sureste mexicano, se han expandido principalmente por razones económicas y culturales ligadas a su modo de vida tradicional. Su sistema de producción se basa en la agricultura mecanizada y la ganadería extensiva, lo que requiere grandes extensiones de tierra. Al establecer nuevas colonias, suelen talar la selva para abrir campos de cultivo, especialmente para sembrar maíz, soya y sorgo, actividades que les permiten mantener su autosuficiencia y vender excedentes.

Sin embargo, este modelo entra en conflicto con el entorno tropical de la región: los suelos del sureste son delgados y frágiles, y al eliminar la cobertura forestal se provoca erosión, pérdida de fertilidad y alteración del equilibrio hídrico. 
Además, la deforestación masiva y el uso de agroquímicos impactan la biodiversidad y contaminan los sistemas de cenotes y acuíferos. La expansión menonita ha sido favorecida por la venta o renta de tierras ejidales y por la falta de regulación ambiental efectiva, lo que convierte este fenómeno en un reto urgente de manejo territorial y conservación ecológica en Quintana Roo. 
Estamos hablando de 5,400 hectáreas dañadas, lo que equivale a una dimensión aún más grande que la propia ciudad de Chetumal.

La zona de Tulum (y sus alrededores en la Riviera Maya) vive un auténtico boom inmobiliario que tiene múltiples dimensiones. Por un lado, la llegada del Tren Maya y la puesta en marcha del Aeropuerto Internacional de Tulum, inaugurado el 1 de diciembre de 2023, están redefiniendo la conectividad del destino y, por tanto, elevando la demanda de vivienda, hospedaje y servicios. 


Por ejemplo, se estima que en 2023 Tulum recibió más de 1.6 millones de turistas y que con estos dos proyectos la afluencia podría subir a más de 2.2 millones para 2025. 


Al mismo tiempo, el mercado inmobiliario se ha disparado entre --más de 200 desarrollos--residenciales en construcción y miles de unidades en oferta, aunque no siempre con suficientes datos precisos de cuántas casas nuevas se levantan al año.&#38;nbsp; Este crecimiento acelerado, sin embargo, arrastra retos importantes: presiones en infraestructura (agua, servicios, vialidad), saturación del mercado (por ejemplo, se reporta una caída del 40 % en demanda inmobiliaria por sobre-oferta)1 y efectos ambientales y sociales de las que todos nos hemos estado dando cuenta, incluso sin estar ahí.

Chicxulub, una localidad costera del norte de Yucatán, es mundialmente conocida por ser el sitio donde cayó hace unos 66 millones de años un enorme meteorito que provocó la extinción de los dinosaurios y marcó el final del período Cretácico. 
El impacto dejó un cráter de más de 180 kilómetros de diámetro, oculto en gran parte bajo la superficie terrestre y el mar. Hoy podemos ver un paisaje manglar extraordinario, con algunos toque “cretácicos”, ya que existen paseos por el manglar con figuras alucivas a los dinosaurios.
Sin embargo lo que más nos llamo la atención en la zona es&#38;nbsp; una densidad urbana que esta ganando terreno ante el manglar; a través de rellenos de escombro poco a poco las viviendas son construidas sobre “terreno firme” y no se ve que tengan ningún tipo de planeación urbana ni infraestructura.
